Let The Memories Begin! – Day 5
After a long and hectic day yesterday, we decided to take it slow today. We skipped breakfast and went to The Cheesecake Factory for an early lunch.
We reached The Cheesecake Factory at The Mall at Millenia at 11am and it was already packed but there were still tables available. While waiting, we ogled at the cheesecake selection, trying very hard to decide which to have. Ashley was instead ogling at the souvenir window display and eyed the Lemon Raspberry Cream Cheesecake teddy plush. Soon, we were brought to our table. After taking a break from Macaroni and Cheese yesterday, Ashley wants to have it today. She also wanted the Corn Dogs for appetiser. Jarod ordered the Roadhouse Burger and ZA and I shared the Factory’s Famous Meatloaf. The food arrived quickly and the portion is really HUGE! As always, the food did not disappoint and we enjoyed the meal. We ordered one Original Cheesecake and one Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake to share and Ashley ordered vanilla ice cream. The cakes are to die for but we could not finish them. ZA obliged and bought the plush for Ashley and she was thrilled.
After lunch, we headed over to the Kate Spade shop. Ashley picked a bag for me and while I tried to look for a wallet, there was nothing I liked. Jarod has by now developed some rashes which we believed was caused by an allergic food reaction. He also had some rashes last night after dinner but they subsided. When he was young, he had a few episodes which doctors have diagnosed as food allergy but could not find the cause. We hurried through the purchase and left for the Pharmacy at Target. The pharmacist recommended antihistamine and a cream. We headed back to the hotel for him to get a rest, hoping that he gets better as we have an activity lined up in the evening. For Ashley, she is happy to be able to catch up on her Ipad time.
At 4.30pm, we set off to St Cloud, a city 30 miles from Orlando. We have booked a carriage ride with All Hitched Up for a sunset ride to Crabby Bill’s Seafood and thereafter, pick-up from the restaurant for the Christmas lights tour. When we arrived at the City Hall of St Cloud, we saw the horse drawn carriage pulling up. Teresa, the driver is friendly and introduced Coaster, the horse. Ashley was really excited! We took some pictures and are all set for the ride. The carriage itself is very comfortable and even has a small table with drink holders. The ride to the restaurant took us through an old charming neighbourhood. Everyone we met while we were on the carriage ride smiled and waved to us. The ride lasted about 15 minutes.
Crabby Bill’s is located at St Cloud Marina and offers great views of Lake Tohopekaliga. We were not quite hungry yet after the scrumptious lunch this afternoon so we ordered 2 appetisers, Alligator Bites and Frog Legs as well as a Seafood Platter Entree to share. Ashley decided to get Macaroni and Cheese again. I wonder when she will get sick of it. The food arrived soon and they looked good. The Alligator Bites were tasty but was on the salty side while we liked the Frog Legs. The Seafood Platter had fish, shrimps, scallops and stuffed crab and the seafood were fresh. Ashley’s Macaroni and Cheese had Fries as side and were good too. We enjoyed the dinner.
After dinner, Teresa and the horse carriage were waiting for us. We took a different route this time and passed through another neighbourhood while enjoying the beautiful Christmas lights. Ashley loved the Christmas decorations on the carriage and could not resist to play with the bell. When we reached the City Hall, Ashley was already asking for another carriage ride. We were glad we booked this ride and did something special, which Jarod also enjoyed tremendously and lamented that we did not have things like these in Singapore.
We went back to the hotel to do our laundry and have an early night.
