Miami / Bahamas / Orlando 2014

It’s USA again this December!

Update 24 April 2014: We have cancelled our December plans to LA/Las Vegas/Taipei. We are impressed by EVA Air that for the promotional fare, cancellation is allowed with a SGD 75 penalty per ticket. The refund application is totally fuss free and done online. We will definitely consider flying with EVA Air when the opportunity arises.

For our year end trip, we will be flying to Miami via Qatar Airways.

Update 10 May 2014: Eva Air has refunded our air tickets. 2 tickets were refunded on 29 April and the remaining 2 tickets on 8 May. The total process completed in 2 weeks. Impressive!

It’s been 2 months since we returned from our memorable trip at Orlando and New York. We started thinking of our next holiday destination this December so that we can take advantage of a good offer that comes along.

We had such a good time in Orlando and we were seriously thinking of returning in December. In January, Qatar Airways had such a good promotion to Miami that we were so tempted to book . We could stay a few days in Miami and then it’s a 3 hour drive to Orlando. Unfortunately, the dates did not work out for us. We would have to depart Singapore by 23 November and that would coincide with some of Jarod’s school activities.
(ZA : we were sooo close to leaving him behind 🙂 )

We also contemplated flying with Cathay Pacific to New York and then onward to Orlando via JetBlue. The airfare promotion was good too but with this fare, we could not do advance seat selection, which did not appeal to us.

In the meantime, Eva Air had this early bird promotion to Los Angeles, with a free stopover in Taipei which sounded good to us. We were there with Jarod back in 2007, without Ashley. There had been several changes since then and seems like it’s the right time for us to visit again. And yes, we finally booked our flight! We will be departing Singapore for Los Angeles on 7 December (it will be a Hello Kitty jet from Taipei to Los Angeles) and leaving on 25 December for Taipei where we would stay for 3 nights before returning to Singapore on 29 December.

Our tentative plans is to visit Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Universal Studios Hollywood and Santa Monica. Next, set off to San Diego to visit Seaworld, San Diego Zoo and San Diego Safari Park. Next, we will drive up to Las Vegas and take a day trip to Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. We are still working out the details and hope this trip will be magical too!
