Go Big Or Go Home! – Day 01

The day that we have been eagerly waiting for has finally come!

As we will be taking a red-eye flight to Narita, we left the luggage packing till today. Unlike previous trips, Ashley will not be donning her princess outfits and thus the packing was a breeze. We are so excited to take our fourth trip to the US!

We decided to head to the airport early and have our dinner there. The wait was not long and after we confirmed that we could check through our luggage to LA, we proceeded to the food court. To fill up on more local food, we had our kaya toast, half boiled eggs and coffee before we proceeded to the immigration.

After a brief stop at Times, we decided to relax at the SATS Premier Club Lounge before our departure. We have four complimentary lounge access which would otherwise expire by end of the year. Unlike ZA, this is the first time we have been to a lounge. The kids were so delighted to lounge around while helping themselves to some food and drinks.

Soon, it was time for boarding. We left for the gate, hoping to get some sleep as we will be exploring the Narita town before our onward flight to LA. To our disappointment, the flight was extremely uncomfortable. The leg room on the aircraft, a Singapore Airlines 777-200 was very small. Jarod’s legs were almost touching the seats in front. Ashley could not get comfortable and I felt very hot and stuffy. Thankfully, the tail wind was very fast and we arrived Narita in six hours which ended our misery.

Not a good start to our adventure and hopefully, the next flight will be better.
