Disney’s PhotoPass+

Yes, we have finally ordered the PhotoPass+ after much deliberation. As much as we will like to make this trip as magical and meaningful, we have been mindful not to exceed our budget. Thus, we try to do the must-haves and do away with the nice-to-haves.

PhotoPass+ is a new service offered by Disney which started April 2012. It is an all-inclusive package with all your PhotoPass photos plus select attraction photos and Dining Print Packages (taken within a 14 day visit), all for USD199.95. It promises to capture all your unforgettable moments of your Walt Disney world vacation.

However, if you pre-order this package at least 14 days prior to the start of your vacation, you enjoy a special offer price of USD 149.00. The pre-order package comes with a voucher to exchange for your PhotoPass+ card once you get to Walt Disney World, a Photo Gallery CD with 400 stock photos, a code to create and order a Photo Archive CD online, print packages at select Dining locations and digital photos from select Attractions.

Disney PhotoPass photographers are conveniently located at all 4 theme parks and in the Downtown Disney area. The unique feature of PhotoPass+ is that you can have Magic Shots. Disney Characters and other fun surprises can  be magically added to your photos after they’re taken. The Disney PhotoPass photographers will help set up the right poses. You can also upload your own trip photos to take advantage of the PhotoPass system.

Once you arrive home from your vacation, you can view your photos, add borders, character signatures  and other enhancements to your pictures. After which you can order a Photo Archive CD all the high resolution photos plus a limited license agreement, which allows you to print photos at any local photo processing center.

We do not usually purchase ride and attraction photos. So, in the past, we will avoid stopping at the photo centers to view the photos as Ashley would want to purchase them. For Walt Disney World, the printed photos will be presented to you at your dining table at the selected dining locations. There is no way that we can avoid  viewing these photos. At USD 30 a photo, it makes sense to purchase the PhotoPass+ since we will be dining at 6 participating restaurants. In addition, with all the professional photographers around, we can finally have everyone in the photo!
