Let The Memories Live Again! – Day 23

This would be our final Epcot Day. We readied ourselves at the start of the day, and we headed off to the Epcot car park. When we reached the main entrance, there were extremely long lines at the bag check. After clearing the bag checks, Ashley wanted to meet Baymax, but Ashley gave up the queue as there was no Fastpass for this. Instead, we headed over to the other side and met Disney characters instead. Although we have done this before, we haven’t had many family photos with the Disney characters, so this was a worthwhile visit.  Afterwards, we headed to Sunshine Seasons for another breakfast on our trip. We had 2 Breakfast platters and a Carrot Cake Cupcake. The Ice Cream Coffee machine was still down though, so we had latte instead. During the meal, we were able to get an additional Fastpass for Test Track, which was nice as I had another chance to get the illustrious “best of the day” design.

We rode the Test Track twice, to no avail however. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the ride thoroughly, and I had my Test Track fix of the lifetime. I think by now, I had memorised all the corners of the ride. On our way out of Test Track, Ashley picked up a model Test Track car and a pressed penny album. Afterwards, we headed for lunch.

We were going to have lunch at Tutto Italia Ristrorante. It was very surprising as they had their full menu for lunch, and the service was on par with the Dinner time service. We ordered a Ribeye Steak, Fillet of Sole, Spaghetti. It was all very nice, and we had an opportunity to have one of our favorite deserts, Mocha Tiramisu.

During this time, we had another opportunity come up, and got a third Fastpass for Test Track. This allowed me one final chance to get the coveted ‘best of the day’ design. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the position yet again, and I settled for going for the most powerful car of the day.

Next, we headed towards Mission Space. We decided to take the Green, less intense mission, as I wasn’t sporting enough to take the more intense G-Inducing variant. We were inside a small capsule that emulated the look and feel of a spaceship. There were switches everywhere and levers. It was a ton of fun just pushing switches and toggling buttons. The mission was to land on Mars, and we experienced the spacecraft takeoff and the landing onto the Mars Space Base. It was an exhilarating experience that I enjoyed. I still think that Test Track still takes the best spot in Epcot however.

We then headed towards the former theater that housed ‘Captain EO’. This was now temporarily replaced by Disney’s Short Film Festival. This was interesting as the festival had just opened today, and we would be one of the first people to experience these films. The films were just a showcase of films that we have seen before, but with enhanced visuals in the form of 3D and better audio fidelity. This was enjoyable and we liked all the three short films. My personal favorite would be La Luna, a short film by Pixar.

We had a short pit stop at Starbucks for 2 Black Tea Lemonades, which were our current favorite beverage. We had a short stop, before heading for one round around the World Showcase to take a selfie at each country.

We also had a short stopover at Germany to get some candy for the trip home. We also had the opportunity to watch the Candlelight Processional as we stood outside America before heading for dinner at Rose & Crown yet again.

We were originally going for a Tutto Italia for our Dinner, but after experiencing how good Rose & Crown was, we decided to go for another round of it. We requested Patio seats and got them, allowing a clear view of the Illuminations fireworks display. We had 2 Steak and Fried Fish and 2 Fish and Chips. We also had a Sticky Toffee Pudding and 2 Banoffee Tarts. We enjoyed the dinner and the show alot, and we left happily.

We headed back to the car and finally back to the hotel, in preparation for our final day in Disney.
