Let The Memories Live Again! – Day 21
Today would be our day that we finally embarked on our Hot Air Balloon adventure. The weather was extremely good when we left the hotel. Visibility was good and not a single dark cloud was in sight. We went to the hotel where we were supposed to meet the pilots of Thompson Aire. Thompson Aire was a family run business that offers flight around the Florida area, particularly around Disney. Thompson Aire attributes themselves to be the best hot air balloon company in the area, with all of their pilots having received several awards for excellent piloting skills at the international level. They released a tracking balloon to trace down the flight path, and we chose a takeoff and landing sight from there. The ride was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. One of the weirdest feelings was that you can’t feel the motion of flight, not even the feeling of lift. You really felt that you were floating in mid-air while inside the balloon. It was a surreal experience.
The landing was equally fun. As there was no “precise” method of landing the hot-air balloon, the pilot explained it was really more like a controlled crash. It was bumpy, but nothing scary. We also helped in the packing and dis-assembly of the balloons. We had a Champagne toast after flight, and were treated to a nice buffet breakfast at the hotel that we met at. Since our shoes were soaked, we went back to the room to change. We then went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where we went to Toy Story Midway Mania immediately, where I couldn’t hit my usual scores as I felt uncomfortable inside.
For lunch, we headed to Mama Melrose’s with Fantasmic Package for our lunch. Although I used to love this place, I felt really unwell and could only eat a small portion of what I normally eat. Everyone went for the steak besides me and Ashley, where I went for the Fish of the Day, while Ashley had here usual Mac N Cheese.
We then stopped by Starring Rolls to get a Butterfinger Cupcake to go, before heading back to the room so I could get some rest. At this point, I felt really uncomfortable. We narrowed it down to the breakfast at Be Our Guest, where I might have gotten a possible food poisoning. We got some rest, and I decided to stay in the hotel room while the others continued the day. Ashley wanted to go to Toys R Us to pick up a doll, but they had to turn back to Hollywood Studios due to severe traffic congestion, and that Ashley didn’t want to miss the show for Beauty and The Beast. They got some Chicken Nuggets for Ashley at Rosie’s American.
They continued to watch Fantasmic!, which they said was really packed and were seated at Scar section, which was to the right of Mickey where we used to be seated.
They also headed to the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration and then Path of The Jedi before heading to Sci-Fi Dine in Theater restaurant. The atmosphere was fun, where they seated in a a car and watched movies, but Ashley was afraid of some scenes. They had Strip Steak, Shrimp Pasta and Mac N Cheese, while having Sundae and Brownie with Ice Cream for Dessert before returning to the room. Hopefully I would be better the next day.
(ZA : Went back to Hotel and saw that a few neighbours had decorated their window sill with Christmas decor. We remarked that if we ever be back here again during Christmas, we will do the same)
