Let The Memories Live Again! – Day 20

This would be another day at the Magic Kingdom. We were on our way to the Beast’s castle to have breakfast at Be Our Guest restaurant. This was a place that we have visited several times in the past. The menu remained the same, although they added a new system, using something called a “Magic Rose” for other customers without magic bands to be eligible to order and for the servers to deliver their food. This used the same technology as the magic bands, and so we did not require to use them. The food was decent, but we thought that there are better breakfast places, but the decorations inside the castle were excellent.

Next, we headed to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Although there was a slight hiccup, causing a momentary break down of the ride, the ride was restarted quickly and we were able to ride it. It was at this point when I realised why I found this ride less comfortable than the others. The safety lap-bar was for each individual rider, and it also constraints the leg area of your body, allowing less space for the rider, making it less comfortable for me. This was not much of an issue however, and we all still enjoyed the ride.

Again, we went to Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas Time Parade for another viewing, this time at a less than ideal angle due to the increased amount of people present in the park today. However, we did find seating directing across Sleepy Hollow, where we got a funnel cake to share, and managed to cancel the fastpass for this entirely, freeing up another fastpass for reusing later in the day.

Next, we went to Big Circus Top Souvenir Shop, where we met our friends, and rode the Barnstormer together. The Barnstormer was the smaller of the three coasters in Magic Kingdom, but we still enjoyed the ride. We have taken this coaster the least compared to Big Thunder and Space Mountain. Afterwards, we also headed to The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, which was a slow ride showing the adventures of Winnie The Pooh, although the same ride is in Los Angeles, I found this version to be better as there are additional scenes, which extended the time of the ride.

 

Following this, we went to meet Ariel at her Grotto. Unlike previous trips, Ashley didn’t need to visit the Disney Princesses, cutting much time that could be put into use elsewhere. However, since we did have a fastpass for this, we might as well have used it. Ashley had a short conversation with Ariel, and got some photos.

 

We also headed to Tomorrowland Speedway next for Ashley to do some driving. Using the same technology as Autopia, this ride was enjoyable for Ashley.

For Dinner, we decided to go to Crystal Palace, where we ate dinner at close to 4pm in the afternoon. However, I didn’t really have the appetite to eat anything that day, so I settled to get some corn dogs and Mac N Cheese, simple food that can be eaten easily. However, I was told that the food standard had improved and that everyone enjoyed their meals.

We went for Big Thunder Railroad next, having the fastpass, which was nice. The ride was almost never less than an hour’s queue, so having something like this really makes the experience feel much more special. We also took the Walt Disney World Railroad afterwards, which goes around the entirety of the Magic Kingdom. I found that this was a must do as it showcases what Disney can do to give the illusion of a “real” world of Disney. It’s one of my favourite things to do while in Disney. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any real animals, like last year.

We then arrived in Futureworld where we had the Wishes Dessert Party. It changed slightly from last year, with the most major change being that the prices have doubled. Some extra niceties were added like a table setting with table cloth, apple cider toast when seated, and themed cupcakes. Tinkerbell and Frozen were the themes, and we were also given a Mickey Souvenir Cup and Cars blinking lights. Also, we had a really good table against the railing as we had booked early.

 

We finally took the PeopleMover, and watched the Main Street Electrical Parade before heading back. The most noticeable difference was the American Eagle being ever more prominent. We went back after that, but for some reason I didn’t feel well. Suspecting it was nothing, we headed back for some rest.
