Let The Memories Live Again! – Day 13

This would be the last day we would be in Las Vegas. We awoke in the morning to scramble all our belongings into our luggage. By some miracle, we were able to fit all our things into 4 of our bags, which means no additional luggage surcharge at JetBlue, the airline that we would be using to fly domestic flights. When we finished packing, we walked to the carpark at the Venetian to stuff all our things into the car, before heading back into the Venetian. The Venetian had another interesting ride that we decided to take before heading off to Orlando. There was an indoor Gondola that stretched the entire shopping area in the Venetian. This was a super attractive ride as the decoration really made it look like Venice, and the person controlling the Gondola would sing some Italian songs as we glided through the water. It was a really fun experience as it was my first time in a Gondola, and we enjoyed this a lot. Have I mentioned how much Vegas overdoes everything?

We left for Buca di Beppo, an interesting Italian diner that we didn’t have the chance to try out in our initial trip. It was an interesting concept as it encouraged a “family style” experience, where each dish could serve 2-3 people. We had a Calamari appetizer, which was delicious. The batter was extremely light and the taste came out wonderfully. The pasta was also very satisfying, as the seafood and pasta blend was almost perfect to us. We then decided to have a Tiramisu desert, which was huge, but extremely satisfying. It came in a huge bowl that could feed a king. We ended up leaving much of the cake at the table, as we left for the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets.

When we arrived at the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets, we realised that much has changed. A huge Multi-Storey car park was built at the premise, and we had no problem finding a space to park the car, unlike the premium outlets in Orlando, where we had to drive around the compound a few times before finding a space to park the car.

At the outlets, we finally picked up the Gap Perfume that my Mom’s friend wanted. Other outlets didn’t have these in stock, so this was came as a relief to all of us. Ashley also enjoyed buying some dresses at Tommy Hilfiger. We also picked up some more Skechers Performance socks to provide more cushioning for the Blisters that were forming for my Mom. This holiday wasn’t that relaxing after all. We walked many rounds along the outlets to find Izod to no avail. We almost wanted to left until by chance, we found a Van Heusen store, where they carried some Izod materials. We shopped happily to replace our current wardrobe, before leaving. We left happily, after many attempts to find more apparel, we finally acheived it in Las Vegas.

Before heading to the airport, we decided to go for a quick dinner. Ashley had wanted to try Ruby’s Diner, but there were none nearby. Instead, we decided to go to Applebee’s instead. The prices were reasonable and the food was okay, but nothing spectacular. A plus side about going to Applebee’s meant that we were really close to the airport, and it was convenient to drop the car off and go to the Airport. We took the car to the return and boarded the shuttle towards the airport.

When we unloaded the baggage off the bus, the winds were picking up extremely strong, and some sand went into my eye. It hurt quite abit, but it fortunately cleared up after some time. We had some time to burn at the airport, so we decided to use the Monorail to head to a Ruby’s Diner that was in another terminal, since Ashley wanted to try it. The burger was of surprisingly good quality, and we burned quite some time before heading back to the gate.

When at the gate, we realised that the plane before us, a flight to San Francisco, was delayed by over 2 hours. We were glad that we weren’t on that flight. We boarded and the plane left on time. It was now off to Florida for the final leg of the trip!
