Let The Memories Live Again! – Day 12

Day 12 loomed over us, and we awoke quite late in comparison to other days. We awoke around 11am, and decided to go for an early lunch. (ZA : We explore The Venetian for awhile. The Venetian is a nice hotel) .We left the Venetian for The Cheescake Factory. Ashley had a craving for The Cheesecake factory, and we were also looking for a fast and easy place to have lunch. We headed off to a nearby location, and parked the car. Inside, there was a line, but it wasn’t long before we were seated down. The decor inside was pretty similar to the other outlets that we were at before. I decided to go for something different and ordered the Alfredo. My Mom had the Pasta with Shrimp and Sausage and my Dad had my previous favourite, the Orange Chicken. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and we enjoyed our meal. We also picked out a Coffee flavoured cheesecake, which was equally delicious before heading off. We were satisfied with our lunch, and did not regret revisiting The Cheesecake factory yet again this year.

Next up, we headed to Silverton Hotel for the Mermaid show. When we reached the hotel, we were greeted by Santa and his helper instead in the tank. We were treated to a session with Santa, before we realised that the Mermaid show had been temporarily moved to later in the day, where we would return as Ashley really wanted to watch the Mermaid show.

After our slight disappointment, we decided to head over to The Las Vegas Strip to walk about. We parked the car at Excalibur, the hotel we stayed at the last time we were at Las Vegas, and decided to walk from there. Our end goal was the Bellagio, so that we could catch it’s iconic fountain displays. On the way. we stopped by the famous Hershey’s world of chocolate, where we picked up some souvenirs before we left. We got some Reese’s playing cards and Lip Balm before walking towards the Bellagio, taking a short stop at New York New York along the way.

When we arrived at the Bellagio, it was a little cold for Ashley, but we still enjoyed the display of “Singing in the Rain” before heading back. Before we headed back to the car however, we stopped at M&Ms world. We picked up some souvenirs, including a M&M Jackpot machine and headed to our car at the Excalibur. We decided to have a short break at The Excalibur in the form of Krispy Kreme. Informed that today was “The Day Of Dozens”, we got 12 donuts free with our 12 donut purchase. We had our fill of donuts before heading to the car, where we headed back again to the Silverton Hotel for the Mermaid show. Ashley enjoyed the show thoroughly, and it was time for the main event of the day.

We headed towards the show that I have been looking forward to, Michael Jackson One. It was a tribute to Michael Jackson and his songs, and under the Cirque Du Soleil name. It was a fantastic experience which incorporated most, if not all of the King’s hits. The show was much less acrobatic than the other Cirque shows that I have seen, but it felt a lot smoother and cohesive, as it told a story, rather than be a showing off act of what people can do. I enjoyed this thoroughly, and we also got a free upgrade of seats, when one of the staff saw us seating together. We were upgraded almost 100$ each in seats, and we felt extremely lucky. We left the show, back to the hotel, so we can prepare for the final day that we would be staying in Vegas.
