Let The Memories Live Again! – Day 10

Today would be our last day in the West Coast. Packing up our luggage into the car, we traveled to Los Angeles International Airport to swap cars at the National Counter. This time, we were treated to an even wider selection of vehicles, of which we selected a Dodge Journey. The Journey was a huge SUV which easily accommodated our luggage and then some. We loaded up our things, got used to the controls and headed off to a nearby Target, where we would stock up on supplies for our drive up to Vegas. (ZA : The reason we changed car is that out current rental have free unlimited mileage if we return back to LAX but not to LAS. So we picked up another SUV for a price of midsize for our journey to LAS)

At Target, we picked up some snacks and drinks on our Journey up to Vegas and were soon ready for Lunch. We headed to a nearby Red Lobster for Lunch as it was convenient, and our past experiences dining there were very good. I ordered a Cajun Chicken Alfredo, while both my parent went for Baked Tilapia. Ashley had her usual Mac N Cheese. We enjoyed our meals very much, and it was one of the first dishes that included Cajun Chicken which my mom enjoyed. We left satisfied, and soon it was time to arrive at Staples Center for Frozen, Disney on Ice.

We braved through L.A Traffic once again to arrive at Staples Center, where Disney on Ice was about to be held. We had a small issue when we realised that we were missing one ticket, but this was quickly solved at the ticket counter where we paid a fee of $6 for misplacing the ticket. Soon, we were inside the theater, which was very cold due to the ice rink.

This was only the second day of the performance, and it was visibly so, as crew on the ground were next to us ironing out some bugs of the performance. The performance however, was spectacular, The skaters performed majestically and danced around the rink with absolute control and beauty. The actors playing the main characters were especially adept with their movements on the rink, with a tandem performance between Anna and Elsa at the finale. We enjoyed this performance much more than I had expected, and Ashley said it was much better than the Disney on Ice’s in Singapore. We left satisfied, but there was one last obstacle left for today.

We left in the heart of L.A traffic, rush hour. At 5.30pm we left for Vegas, and it took us 2 hours to make it 30 miles. It was excruciatingly tiring and frustrating, but we were eventually free and now in the right direction towards Vegas. We had a short stop at a McDonalds for a quick bite, where we also picked up 20 nuggets for the way there.

Soon, we arrived at Las Vegas, visibly tired but happy. We checked into our hotel, the Venetian and slept in for the night. We were upgraded to a Suite with a view, and my dad claimed that it was his handsome face and his killer smile that got us this room. (ZA : Of course!) We didn’t doubt him (ZA: ha ha …good one Jarod), and checked out our new room. It was luxurious and huge, with a step down living room area and second TV. We unloaded all our essentials from our luggage and slept in for the night, ready for our first full day in Las Vegas.
