This is another piece of Ashley’s work which I enjoyed reading. She has earned an A- grade.

“Woof! Woof!” barked Eric’s dog, Rover as they walked through the nearby meadow. They were enjoying the lush greenery and fresh air. It was a perfect day to have a walk in the lovely meadow.
All of a sudden, Eric heard someone called out as he passed the playground. “Eric! Come join me! Quick!” It was his neighbour, Julian. Eric hurriedly tied Rover’s leash to a thin branch. Then, he scurried excitedly to Julian. At the playground, they played on the slide, swung on the swing and went up and down on the see-saw. Peals of laughter filled the air.
Before long, Julian had to go for his Chinese tuition, so he left. Reluctantly, Eric turned to get his dog. To his horror, Rover was gone! The only evidence was a broken branch on the ground.A wave of panic swept over Eric as he said to himself, “I really hope Rover is fine as he has become my best buddy since he was given to me as a birthday present.” Eric searched high and low frantically both in the meadow and at the playground. He even searched the path they came from! Exhausted, Eric went home with tears streaming down his face.
Eric regretted not taking good care of Rover. “Maybe I should …” before he could finish his sentence, he heard a familiar sound coming from the backyard. As the back door was opened, he went to take a look. It was Rover! Eric’s eyes lit up! He hugged Rover tightly as Rover wagged its tail and licked his face. Eric was relieved to find his best buddy, Rover. Clever Rover, he must have found his way home!

Teacher’s comment:
What a wonderful piece of writing! I love your speeches! They make the story appear so real! However, it would be good to explain to the readers how Rover was back home. Well done, Keep it up!
