USA, Here We Come Again!
Time passes by ever so quickly when we are all caught up with our hectic routine. That said, it really helps to chase away our post holiday blues.
We had been debating our year end holiday destination since our return last December. Since this would probably be the last long trip we can make till Jarod finishes his NS obligations, we wanted it to be a memorable one. Amongst the 4 of us, we each picked our favourite and it was not a surprise that USA emerged as our top choice again! New Zealand was a close second. I actually have a planned itinerary for a South Island self drive trip which we may finally visit next year.
USA is a stunningly diverse land where nearly three thousand miles separate the west coast from the east coast. Iconic landmarks, action-packed adventure, breathtaking views, dazzling nightlife or total relaxation – the USA has it all. While we visited the east coast for the past two years, we will be focusing on the west coast which is incredible too, this trip. We last visited the west coast 8 years ago without Ashley.
Since we have accumulated enough miles on our Kris Flyer to redeem 4 tickets, we did so with a stopover at Tokyo en route to Los Angeles. We had to redeem the tickets the same day it was opened for booking as very limited seats were available for the Saver tier, especially during the December peak period. We thought we would continue to look out for other offers that may come along as Delta had a really good deal last year. Then, out of the blue, I chanced upon the irresistible Super Deals offered by Singapore Air. Without hesitation, we booked our trip to Los Angeles and departing from San Francisco.
For this trip, we will mainly be exploring Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Diego, Napa Valley and San Francisco in California; Las Vegas in Nevada and a day trip to Arizona. We are excited at the varied activities we can do on this trip –
from the world class theme parks
to whale and dolphin watching
to famous Hollywood sign to the Las Vegas neon
to standing in awe at the Grand Canyon
to sledding at Mount Charleston
to hot air ballooning at Napa Valley
to global icon Golden Gate Bridge.
Not forgetting ZA and Jarod can finally tee off at Torrey Pines, the award winning championship golf course. (I promised ZA he could cross this out from his bucket list before he turns 50.)
Not to mention savouring all the mouth watering food that USA has to offer.
