‘Magic’al Europe – Day 5

We awoke the next day, to even more pleasant surprises hanging outside our cabin door. As we signed up on the Facebook for a gift and chocolate exchange, we were excited at every moment to check what goodies  arrived outside our doors! Before heading out, we also stopped by the art sales corridor, where paintings of various styles (and prices) were up for sale. Being quite artistically dull myself, none of them really greatly interested me, and we quickly moved on.

We headed to Animator’s Palate for our Character Breakfast. This was a good opportunity for Ashley to meet several characters, and also for us to experience the newly renovated and re-done Animator’s Palate. While others reportedly enjoyed this restaurant the least, the cute brush-inspired cutlery made us all love it. We also got to meet several classic Disney characters, while I had a nose bleed at the most convenient of times of course, where Mickey was going to take a photo with me.

The food was also good, and we all were treated to pastries, drink and of course, our main breakfast.

After this, we were treated to some free time, which we could spend roaming around and doing activities around the ship. ZA and I took the opportunity to observe a cooking session with one of the Head Chefs on board the ship, and we were introduced to the team of cooks and wine-tasters that were in charge of making our food journey as enjoyable as the one on the high seas. Also, we were able to sample the cooking and some Chardonnay for free!

After this, we headed to Cove Cafe, which serves free cakes(!!! – at this point I’m no longer surprised). We took some blankets as well and took the time to relax in the cool weather while Ashley had fun in the Kid’s Club.

After this, we headed back to our cabin, and lo and behold, more goodies appeared at our front door! We ended up with more gifts we imagined, and it was only the second afternoon! We took some rest time in our cabin before heading out again for lunch and other activities.

For lunch, we headed to Lumiere’s again for Lunch. For lunch, we were free to go to any of the available restaurants, and we chose to head to Lumiere’s for our fare. We ordered 2 Halibut fillets, a Penne Rigate and I ordered a “The Classic” burger, all of them again– amazing.

After lunch, we headed to watch a Magic Show hosted by Kyle Knight & Mistie, two Las Vegas Magicians that were hired to do some of their entertainment on-board the ship. Unlike most magic shows, the show was amazing and some unreal magic tricks were showcased, with illusions and deceptions being carried out in front of our very eyes. Although we already were treated to a small introduction during the show on the first day, this show really showcased what they were capable of — Ashley was a fan and even bought their DVD!

Next, we headed to the Deck, where — you guessed it, we got more food to eat, comprising of a Hot Dog, Fish Burger as well as some slices of pizza. We also got some free drinks at the lobby before heading to a performance by JUNKK, a group of experimental performers that made music out of—junk.

Yet again, we headed to Dinner, but not before we got to take photos with the captain of the ship.

At dinner, we headed back to Animator’s Palate, the same restaurant where we had our breakfast. As today was the dress-up day as provided on the schedule by Disney, I tried my best to look a little smarter t han usual, and we settled in for dinner.

For Dinner, we were served an interesting variety of appetisers, of which we ordered the Smoked Salmon Tartare, the sliced Serrano Ham, and the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes. For Soups, we opted to try the Green Pea Soup as well as the Butternut Squash Soup, of which both did not really impress me. Following up, we had our main courses, where ZA and SF both ordered the Beef Tenderloin, Ashley opting for the Penne Bolognese, and I tried the Pork Cordon Blue, which could be best described as deep fried pork with some cheese in it — it was delicious.

For desserts, we ordered a Sweet Temptation, a Cookies and Cream Sundae, a White Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake and a Duo Chocolate Cake.

Finally, after a long day, we again returned to our cabin to even more surprises, where we were greeted with a Towel Dog, the activities for tomorrow as well as some chocolates for an additional snack.
