Danang Day 6
This would be the last day of our trip to Vietnam, and we were all relinquishing the last days of our trip away from reality. This also meant that we had to pack up all our belongings and go back to our real lives. We started the day off by packing up all the stuff that we had brought back into our baggage, and luckily for us, they had offered a service that allowed us to simply leave our luggage in our room, and they would pick up our baggage from the room and bring it onto the bus that we would be using to go back to the airport. This was very convenient for us, and not just because we were lazy, it also allowed us to go for lunch without our baggage, which was very good.
For lunch, we headed back to Azura, which was the same Italian restaurant that we went a few days ago. We were impressed with the quality of food as well as the relatively okay prices, considering that we were in such an upclass resort of all places. We had ordered an assortment of dishes for our lunch, as we had opted to skip breakfast today. We had ordered the same Mushroom flavoured Pizza, as well as a new Korean Beef Delight Pizza, and the same Penne Carbonara that Ashley loved during our first visit to Azura. Funnily enough, the wildest choice became my favourite, with me eating almost four slices of the Korean Beef Delight, which in my opinion was an excellent blend of flavours all around.
We then were given a direct buggy ride back to the lobby where the bus would be bringing us back to the hotel. This was very convenient as this allowed us to not set a foot on the ground, and bring us lazily back to the lobby where we awaited transport back to the hotel. Soon, the van had arrived, and we were able to easily fit our luggage into the van, and off we went to the one hour ride to the airport. As we were already pretty used to long car rides due to our trip to Hoi An, this trip did not seem to take very long as we soon ended up at the airport, where we were the first in line to check in at Silkair, almost three hours early!
We soon cleared customs and we were on our way to the plane, where we waited almost two hours at the gate, before realising that the gate had changed without mention, and after a short tuffle, we were back on track and onto the plane.
A short two hour flight later, we were back in Singapore. For what was a short trip, it felt like it had rejuvenated our senses and made us much more refreshed after giving us a sense of respite from the toil of daily life. This trip was certainly not something we would do normally, and I am glad that we had did it in the end. Not even imagining that I would even travel to Vietnam, it has turned into one of my favourite places to visit in Asia. And a convenient upside was that Singapore doesn’t feel that hot after all. Home sweet home.
